Friday 18th May 2012

Although a normal meeting, two "new" things happened.

The first was the arrival of an indoor 10 Pin Bowling kit.  Nothing special, but like the real thing, getting the pins down is not as easy as it seems.  Anyway, a bit of fun for the young people.

The Pins Set Up

Some one managed to knock some pins down
The second new thing was a warm welcome to the Rev. Peter Lowe.  Rev Peter is the Vicar at St. Andrew's Church in Heybridge, St. George's Church in Heybridge Basin and Rector at St. Gile's Church in Langford.

During the God Slot", which looked at who our neighbour is, Peter recalled an incident he had with some of his neighbours when he was based in Portsmouth.

We looked at the story Jesus told about the Samaritan (who were part of the Jewish Nation) help another Jew (who strongly dis-liked the Samaritans) who had been beaten up and robbed.  Jesus taught that we need to treat everyone the same, no matter how difficult it is to love them.

We ended with some games with the parachute.
